FAQ
Platform
Section titled “Platform”What is the Lovelace platform?
Lovelace is a community and player intelligence platform for game studios. It centralizes player feedback and turns signals into actionable insights for product, design, and marketing teams.
Who is the platform for?
Lovelace is built for indie, AA, and AAA studios, publishers, and external partners supporting game teams. It can be used from pre-production to live ops.
What data sources does Lovelace analyze?
Lovelace can combine community discussions, player comments, playtest feedback, and research data. Available sources depend on connectors and plan scope.
How does data connection work?
You connect sources through available connectors/APIs, define scope (game, channels/pages, period, filters), and ingest data based on supported cadence (real-time, scheduled, or manual).
Does Lovelace replace community managers or UX teams?
No. Lovelace supports decision-making and prioritization. It complements team expertise and does not replace human analysis or community relationships.
Can we use Lovelace without running studies or playtests?
Yes. The platform can be used on its own. It becomes stronger when combined with playtests and market research.
Do all collected messages appear in Lovelace?
Messages collected within your configured scope are ingested and visible while your subscription is active, subject to connector access rights and technical constraints.
Do all customers have the same features and limits?
No. Available connectors, scope, history depth, sync cadence, and processing capacity depend on your contract and offer tier.
Is there a limit on messages processed for AI Insights?
Yes. AI processing volume for insight generation can be contract-limited. Collected message visibility and AI processing limits are separate concepts.
Can some connectors create extra costs?
Yes. Some third-party platforms can require paid API access or usage-based billing (including X-like platforms). These costs depend on external pricing and your contract terms.
How are storage, backup, and retention handled?
Storage, backup/restore, retention duration, and operational commitments (including RPO/RTO when applicable) are defined in your contract.
Who owns the data?
Customer data remains the customer’s property. Lovelace does not resell client data.
Market Research
Section titled “Market Research”What are Lovelace market studies?
They analyze real player expectations, perceptions, and behaviors from concrete feedback sources to explain what works, what does not, and why.
How is this different from classic market research?
Lovelace combines player voice and evidence from real comments/feedback, rather than relying only on generic market aggregates. The output is operational and decision-ready.
When should we run a market study?
Common moments include pre-launch validation, post-launch correction, retention/conversion issues, repositioning, marketing strategy preparation, and gameplay loop validation.
Do studies help marketing teams too?
Yes. They help define stronger messaging, highlight what to emphasize, and identify what to avoid in communication.
What are the typical deliverables?
Structured insight reports, key friction/motivation synthesis, positioning recommendations, and team alignment readouts.
Playtests
Section titled “Playtests”What playtest formats does Lovelace support?
Playtests can target prototypes, alpha/vertical slices, onboarding, difficulty/balance/progression, and broader perception/comprehension questions.
How are Lovelace playtests different?
They are not isolated studies. They are enriched with platform insights, signal cross-analysis, participant profiling, behavior tracking, and quality controls to reduce bias.
How do you ensure participant quality?
Lovelace applies profile filtering, consistency checks, anti-fraud controls, and behavioral cross-validation to improve sample reliability.
Do playtests only cover gameplay mechanics?
No. They can also cover onboarding, UI clarity, mechanic comprehension, player expectation alignment, and perception of game promise/art direction.
What do we receive after a playtest?
A concise executive synthesis, key findings with evidence, actionable recommendations, and prioritized actions.
Can playtests be combined with market research?
Yes. Playtests explain in-game behavior; market studies explain external expectations and motivations. Combined, they provide stronger decision context.
AI & Models
Section titled “AI & Models”Does Lovelace use ChatGPT or public generic models for client analysis?
Lovelace uses proprietary internal models built and maintained by Lovelace for gaming use cases.
How should AI outputs be interpreted?
AI outputs are analysis accelerators and decision-support signals. They are grounded in your data scope and designed for actionable interpretation, while final decisions remain human.
